McVey has enjoyed being an active supporter of civic and charitable organizations, including Halo House Foundation, Human Rights Watch, Vital Voices, Houston’s International Community, Transition Co-Chairman of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Friends of American University of Afghanistan, lifetime member of the NAACP, National Advisory Board Member of the Tahirih Justice Center, Vice-Chairman of Disaster and Humanitarian Services and serving as committee member of the Bush-Clinton Ike Coastal Recovery Fund.
As a community driven business person, McVey has promoted the economic development and sustainability of the City of Houston and previously served as Chairman of the Political Engagement Committee of the Greater Houston Partnership.
